Spiaggetta

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggetta is a sandy bathing beach located on the western shore of Lake Como in the municipality of Sala Comacina, Lombardia. The beach is enclosed by fencing and measures approximately 30 metres in width. Water quality at this site is classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2019–2022. The beach is situated at an altitude of 213 metres above sea level.

Water

Lake Como (Lago di Como). The bathing area is designated as a lake category water body with a hydrographic basin of ADDA.

Location

Sala Comacina, Lombardia, on the western shore of Lake Como. The bathing area extends approximately 50 metres and sits at 213 metres above sea level. Contact: Comune di SALA COMACINA, tel. 034455102.

Facilities

Shower (doccetta). Dogs are not permitted. A mooring zone for boats is present adjacent to the bathing area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT (reference period 2019–2022). No anthropogenic activities known to promote eutrophication or cyanobacterial growth. No exceedances of regulatory thresholds for cyanobacteria recorded in the past 4 years. No toxic effects on bathers or aquatic environment have been registered.

Risks

Possible short-duration pollution events may result from unfavourable meteorological conditions, terrain washoff, water pooling, and accidental or unauthorised discharges of liquids or contaminating debris.
