Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggia Albergo Piscina is a gravelly and grassy beach on Lake Ledro in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The beach spans approximately 230 metres in length and 25 metres in width, with a gently sloping profile extending from the shoreline into the water. The beach area is flat across its entire surface and includes equipped facilities in the surrounding zone. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent for the years 2016–2019.

Lake Ledro. Area extension 1.6 km. The Sarca hydrographic basin is the relevant water body designation.

Location

Located in Ledro, Trento Province, at Pieve di Ledro, altitude 655 metres above sea level. Parking and public facilities available at the beach including public toilets, public bar, and equipped play areas.

Public toilets, public bar, equipped play areas. Animals are not permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (years 2016–2019). Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. Mean total phosphorus concentration for the period 2014–2016 was 14.6 µg/l. No point-source pollution elements identified. Sewage from riparian users in the area is collected and treated at the Pieve di Ledro treatment plant with no reported issues.

Risks

Annual algal monitoring programme conducted monthly from May to September, including testing for toxic algae. No cyanobacterial blooms (>20,000 cells/ml) recorded in the past four years. No anomalous situations reported in the past four years.
