Marina di Modica is a sandy beach located in the municipality of Modica in Sicily. The beach is bounded by low, extensive rocky cliffs on the right and the Punta Regilione promontory on the left, with high dune ridges behind covered in dense Mediterranean vegetation. The beach is easily accessible and suitable for swimming.

Location

Modica, Sicily, in the Ragusa province. The bathing area is located along a 1.6 km coastal stretch from Punta Scalambri to Punta Religione. The beach width is 70 meters.

Facilities

The coastal area is both free and equipped with facilities. Lifeguard services and basic amenities are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Excellent. No pollution sources are present within the bathing area itself.

Risks

Heavy rainfall can cause overflow of stormwater discharge into bathing waters. Combined sewer overflow structures are present. Agricultural activities, intense urbanization, and untreated urban sewage are identified as potential pollution causes in the surrounding area.
