Salicerchie Beach is a rocky and sandy bathing area located on the high, jagged carbonate coast of the Fjord of Furore. The surrounding area features steep slopes, sparse urbanization, and cultivated terraces. The beach itself is pebbly and situated at the centre of the fjord.

Location

Maiori, Province of Salerno, Campania region. Monitoring point coordinates available through local authorities.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent (2020–2023). Urban wastewater is treated in a settling tank at Costa d'Angolo with final discharge via submarine outfall. The Reginna Mayor river discharges to the western side of the beach and receives treated wastewater from Tramonti municipal treatment plant.

Risks

Potential submarine pipeline ruptures at the settling tank outfall. River discharge management occurs during summer months via channelling infrastructure.
