Spiaggia Tempesta

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggia Tempesta is a small gravel beach located on Lake Garda in Nago-Torbole, Trentino Alto Adige. The beach features a double concrete pier and a boat ramp, with an area of approximately 15 metres in length and 3 metres in width. An wooded green area with an access path is situated behind the beach. Maximum bather capacity is estimated at around 10 people due to limited parking, difficult access, and small beach area.

Lake Garda. Total length 51.6 kilometres, maximum depth 346 metres, surface area 369.98 square kilometres. Average surface water temperature approximately 12°C. Drainage basin area 2,290 square kilometres. Northern shore width approximately 3 kilometres. Sediment composition primarily limestone and dolomite fragments.

Location

Nago-Torbole, Trentino Alto Adige, Italy. Located on Lake Garda at 65 metres above sea level. Limited parking availability restricts access to the beach.

Facilities

Concrete double pier, boat ramp. No sanitary facilities or commercial services available. Animal access prohibited by ordinance.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT (2016–2019). Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. Mean total phosphorus concentration 16 micrograms per litre (2014–2018). No local pollution sources identified. Cyanobacteria bloom detected in August 2018 (Cyanodictyon sp., 5.36×10⁴ cells/ml) with no harmful effects reported.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms documented (August 2018). Rapid changes in water level linked to sudden atmospheric pressure drops. Strong wind activity (Peler in mornings, Ora in afternoons reaching significant speeds in northern section).
