Pontile Campeggio Maroadi

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Pontile Campeggio Maroadi is a bathing area on Lake Garda with a rocky beach approximately 500 metres long and 20 metres deep. The beach has negligible slope that is consistent between the emerged and submerged zones. The water quality is classified as excellent for the years 2016–2019. The area is located in the municipality of Nago-Torbole in the Trentino-Alto Adige region.

Water

Lake Garda. The lake is the largest of the southern Alpine lakes with a total length of 51.6 kilometres, a maximum depth of 346 metres, and a surface area of 369.98 square kilometres. Average surface water temperature is approximately 12°C. The bathing area extends 1 kilometre and has a depth measurement of 65 metres above sea level.

Nago-Torbole, Trento Province, Trentino-Alto Adige region, northern Italy. Elevation 65 metres above sea level.

Facilities

Toilets and showers available. Numerous reception facilities including bars and restaurants. Animal access prohibited by municipal ordinance.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2016–2019). Mean phosphorus concentration in 2014–2018 was 16 µg/l. Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. No point-source pollution elements detected.

Risks

Potential for cyanobacterial bloom (potentially toxic cyanobacteria) and phytoplankton bloom as a type of proliferation. Arco wastewater treatment plant discharge located approximately 1 kilometre from the Sarca River mouth, equipped with final effluent filtration and chemical phosphorus removal system; biological denitrification implementation in progress.
