Strandbad Aga

Germany Lake 1 - Excellent

Strandbad Aga is a bathing beach located in a quiet suburb approximately 8 km from the city of Gera. The lake is continuously supplied with fresh water from the Reichenbach springs. The bathing area is bounded by an access road, adjacent agricultural fields, and an integrated campground. Non-swimmer and swimmer areas are designated, with a meadow for lying, gastronomic facilities, and recreational opportunities available.

Water

Natural lake with a water surface area of 0.06128 km². Maximum water depth of 15–20 m. Elevation of 240 m above sea level. Water level fluctuations are less than 0.5 m during the bathing season. Water renewal occurs through groundwater inflow and the Reichenbach springs.

Location

Approximately 8 km from Gera in a suburban area. Accessible by federal highway with a car, bicycle, or bus connection. Parking is available.

Ecological status class ÖKZ 1 (very good). Oligotrophic classification. No municipal, industrial, or combined sewer discharges. No discharge of untreated stormwater.
