Torsei is a bathing water located on the high, rocky coast facing the urban area of Framura and the railway station in Liguria, Italy. The water body is classified as a coastal water with mountainous relief and low stability. The bathing area has been classified as excellent based on water quality monitoring from 2008 to 2011.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). Identified pollution sources include the Anzo treatment plant, a sea outfall, and the river mouth (Rio Anzo). The Ligurian Sea is characterised by oligotrophic conditions, which prevent cyanobacterial blooms. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded.

Risks

Potential impacts from the Anzo treatment plant, sea outfall, and river mouth discharge. A modelling approach for characterising short-duration pollution events and anomalous situations is under development.
