Water Quality

Water quality has been monitored from 2002 onwards through regulatory surveillance and self-monitoring programs. The beach is classified under both the 1976 directive and the 2006 directive frameworks. Monitoring results are available for seasons 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Risks

Potential pollution sources include non-collective wastewater treatment systems, stormwater runoff, pumping stations, networks and connections, and cyanobacteria proliferation. Macro algae and phytoplankton proliferation potential has been evaluated.
