Viserba - La Sortie is a sandy beach located in the municipality of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region, extending approximately 1 kilometre. The area is highly touristic with numerous hotels and beach establishments. A constant lifeguard service operates during the bathing season. The beach width varies between 70 and 120 metres.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent for the reference years 2019-2022. Escherichia Coli 90th percentile: 60 CFU/100 ml, 95th percentile: 84 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal Enterococci 90th percentile: 19 CFU/100 ml, 95th percentile: 22 CFU/100 ml. An anomalous situation occurred on 26 July 2022 with exceedance of Escherichia coli legal limits, subsequently classified as an anomalous situation by the European Commission.

Risks

The Fossa Sortie discharge located within the Viserba harbour inlet discharges storm water to sea during intense or prolonged precipitation events. Emergency overflow systems n. 223 and 3A (black water network) and overflow system n. 12 (mixed water network) can discharge to bathing water during exceptional circumstances. The Fossa Sortie proximity may originate eutrophication phenomena.
