Artificial lake. Area: 2.3 hectares. Elevation: lowland, less than 200 metres above sea level. Catchment area: very small, less than 10 square kilometres. Sandy substrate and seabed composition. Layered water body with mean water level fluctuations of 1.5 metres. Water exchange time exceeds 30 days.

Location

Krefeld, Germany. The bathing area is managed by Schwimmverein Bayer Uerdingen 08 e.V., located at Am Waldsee 25, 47829 Krefeld. The water sampling location is at UTM coordinates E: 336391 N: 5694797.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent (2020–2023). Average water temperature: 20.3 degrees Celsius. Average pH: 8.21 (range 7.81–8.68). Average transparency: 2.2 metres (range 1.2–4.4 metres). No conductivity measurements are available. Minor phosphate threshold exceedances noted, but no significant pollution detected overall. The water body shows no significant contamination from agricultural runoff, mixed water discharges, or rainwater runoff.

No cyanobacterial blooms observed in the past four years. No future risk of cyanobacterial mass development identified. No risk of macroalgae or phytoplankton mass development. No cercariae (duck itch) detected. No contamination in sediments.
