Wallersee is a natural lake located in a branch basin of the Salzach glacier in the Salzburg Alpine foothills. The lake has a maximum depth of 23.3 metres, a mean depth of 13.0 metres, and a surface area of approximately 5.9 square kilometres. The Strandbad Seekirchen bathing beach is situated in a bay on the westernmost shore of the lake near the Fischach outlet, bordered on both sides by reed zones 40 to 70 metres wide. The current water level of 506 metres results partly from artificial lowering measures.
