Torre Cerrano bathing zone is a predominantly sandy beach located in Pineto, Abruzzo, along the Tronto-Riccio water body. The beach is classified as excellent quality and extends over an area of 1.65 square kilometres. The surrounding area includes the Lido Itaca and International Camping facilities, as well as a Coastguard landing point.

Coastal water body (Torrente Cerrano) in the Abruzzo plain with medium stability characteristics. Marine waters adjacent to the Abruzzo coast.

Location

Pineto, Province of Teramo, Abruzzo region. Managed by the Municipality of Pineto (Via Milano, 1, 64025 Pineto; Tel./fax 085/9497220). The area extends 1.65 kilometres.

Facilities

Coastguard landing point, Lido Itaca facilities, International Camping. Animal access is permitted according to the Torre del Cerrano Marine Protected Area regulations.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The water body is monitored as part of the eighth monitoring year (as of May 2019). Marine waters in the Abruzzo area have not exhibited characteristic cyanobacterial blooms. Rare algal blooms occur in summer, with occasional dinoflagellate blooms from previous years showing scarce or absent toxic species.
