The bathing zone is located along Via del Mare in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Abruzzo region. The beach is sandy with pebble sections and a slope of approximately 0.50%. The beach extends for approximately 1,320 metres with an average depth of approximately 25 metres. The water body is classified as coastal water with plains and medium stability. The bathing area is equipped with lifeguard services, hygiene facilities, and first aid. Restaurants, play areas, and camping facilities including camper/caravan sites and bungalows are available near the beach concessions.

Water

Coastal water body in the Tronto-Riccio hydrographic area. The beach is sandy with pebble sections with a slope of approximately 0.50%. Average depth is approximately 25 metres. Each beach concession covers approximately 30 metres for bathing.

Location

Roseto degli Abruzzi, Teramo Province, Abruzzo region. The beach is accessed along Lungomare Trieste. The beach extends 1,320 metres.

Facilities

Lifeguard assistance service, hygiene facilities, first aid, restaurants, play areas, camping facilities with camper/caravan sites and bungalows. Animals are not allowed under regional regulation.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is EXCELLENT. The wastewater treatment network is of separate type and converges at the treatment plant located in Villa Pozzoni, Giulianova municipality. The plant comprises three activated sludge lines with final disinfection. Treated effluent complies with limits set by Legislative Decree 152/06. Plant capacity: 89,000 inhabitant equivalents. No specific monitoring measures are currently active.

Risks

Four stormwater discharge channels to sea are present in the sampling point area. Marine waters in the Abruzzo area have not shown cyanobacteria blooms. Rare algal blooms occur in summer months; past years recorded some dinoflagellate blooms with scarce or absent toxic species presence. No anomalous events have been recorded.
