A sandy, flat beach located on the border with Tortoreto municipality along Lungomare Marconi in Alba Adriatica. The beach has an average width of approximately 180 meters and accommodates around 1500 daily swimmers. The area is delimited to the west by a promenade with a cycling and pedestrian path. It is classified as an excellent quality bathing water and serves as the primary bathing zone for the area.

Water

Coastal marine waters covering an area of 0.290 square kilometers. The water body is designated as IT_12_TRONTO_RICCIO and belongs to the Coastal Waters category with Plain Shoreline and Medium Stability classification (C2).

Location

Alba Adriatica, Teramo Province, Abruzzo Region, Italy. The beach is situated on the border with Tortoreto and extends along Lungomare Marconi. Access is managed by the Municipal Police (Comando Polizia Municipale, Via Bafile n. 71, Alba Adriatica). Animals are prohibited by regional ordinance.

3 public beaches, 4 beach establishment concessions, 2 recreational facility concessions, 1 seasonal equipment installation concession for games and leisure, 1 sailing club concession.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as EXCELLENT. The depurator serving the area treats 100% of wastewater from Alba Adriatica and jointly serves Martinsicuro with a capacity of 92,000 equivalent inhabitants. Treatment includes three purification lines: one biodisk system and two active sludge lines with final disinfection. Analysis of discharge water from the Villa Rosa treatment plant in Martinsicuro shows the facility functioning properly with all values compliant with Legislative Decree 152/06 Table 3. Marine waters in the Abruzzese area have not exhibited characteristic cyanobacterial blooms. Occasional dinoflagellate blooms occur in summer with little or no toxic species present.

Risks

Stormwater discharge pipes to sea are present and require monitoring. The treatment plant near the Vibrata River has been identified as an environmental critical point requiring continuous monitoring. Short-duration pollution events may occur during stormwater discharge, and an adequate modeling approach is under study.
