A flat sandy beach located in Tortoreto, Abruzzo, with over 99% sand composition and a D50 grain size of 0.200 mm. The beach is 80 metres wide and receives approximately 4,200 daily swimmers. The surrounding area is developed with urban settlements and tourism-related infrastructure. The area is classified as coastal water with medium stability.

Location

7 bathing complexes, 3 restaurants, 7 structures with first aid and disabled access services, 7 structures with sports facilities. Animals are not permitted in accordance with regional bathing regulations.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT. The municipality has a separate sewerage system serving 98% of the population. Wastewater is treated at a treatment plant in Contrada Salinello. A new activated sludge treatment plant entered operation in 2020, dimensioned for 62,000 population equivalents, serving both Tortoreto and Giulianova Nord, discharging into the Salinello river.
