A flat sandy beach located in Tortoreto, Abruzzo, with sand comprising over 99% of the beach composition. The beach is approximately 85 metres wide and receives about 2000 daily swimmers. The surrounding area is occupied by urban settlements and structures connected to tourism and bathing activities. The beach is classified as excellent quality.

Water

Coastal water body with an area of 0.534 km². The beach is sandy and flat with a median grain size (D50) of 0.200 mm and contains over 99% sand with no dune cordons.

Facilities

Eight beach resort concessions, three beach umbrella rental concessions, three free beaches, one boat dock, five restaurants, twelve structures with first aid and disabled services, four structures with sports facilities. No animals permitted in accordance with regional beach ordinance.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The marine waters of the Abruzzo area have not presented characteristic cyanobacterial blooms. Sparse algal blooms occur in the summer period, with some past occurrences of dinoflagellate blooms with little or no presence of toxic species. No anomalous events have been recorded.
