A bathing area located 200 metres north of the Sinello River mouth in Casalbordino, Abruzzo. The beach is predominantly pebbly and gravelly with a raised embankment, with a sedimentary plain extending to a railway embankment and a flat valley beyond. The beach width varies from 10 to 50 metres and accommodates 400 to 600 swimmers concentrated near the inhabited centre and accommodation facilities. The area has been classified as excellent water quality.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. No cyanobacteria blooms detected in the marine waters off the Abruzzo coast. Sparse algal blooms in summer with occasional dinoflagellate blooms in past years, lacking toxic species or with total absence of toxic species. Sewage infrastructure includes pressurised sewage pipes and pumping stations. Municipal treatment plant discharges into the Sinello River; consortium drainage channels for stormwater. No unsewered settlements in the area.
