The bathing water is located 200 m north of Tollo railway station near Ortona on the Abruzzo coast. It is a sandy beach with considerable depth and an average width of 30–35 metres. The beach is situated in a moderately urbanised area with hills approaching the coast and significant infrastructure including a state road and railway line. The area experiences moderate risk from its geographical and topographical features.

Ortona, Chieti Province, Abruzzo region. Located 200 m north of Tollo railway station. The beach is accessible via the state road and railway infrastructure in the area.

Water quality classification: Sufficient. The area is monitored as a coastal bathing water zone. River mouths have been identified as sources of pollution. The marine waters in the Abruzzo area offshore have not presented cyanobacterial blooms. Low algal blooms occur in the summer period.

River mouths are identified as pollution sources. No anomalous events have been recorded. No cyanobacterial blooms have been observed in recent years. No macroalgae, phytoplankton, or potentially toxic species proliferation events have been recorded in the last four years.
