A beach located 300 metres north of the Potenza River mouth in Porto Recanati, consisting of fine calcareous gravel with a 3% slope on the emerged beach and 8% on the submerged beach. The beach is 40 metres wide. The surrounding area is urbanised. The distance between medium-low water and high water (safe water limit) is 4 metres, with an astronomical tidal range of 30–50 centimetres.

Classified as Poor in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. 2015: E. coli 90th percentile 922.2 CFU/100ml, intestinal enterococci 90th percentile 381.7 CFU/100ml. 2016: E. coli 90th percentile 1006.2 CFU/100ml, intestinal enterococci 90th percentile 467.3 CFU/100ml. 2017: E. coli 90th percentile 728.4 CFU/100ml, intestinal enterococci 90th percentile 372.4 CFU/100ml. 2018: E. coli 90th percentile 501.6 CFU/100ml, intestinal enterococci 90th percentile 278.2 CFU/100ml. Identified pollution sources: urban wastewater and the Potenza River mouth.

Risks

Activation of overflow discharge systems and lifting stations. Urban wastewater from sewage networks and road surface runoff water. No cyanobacterial proliferation detected. No algal blooms reported in the sampling period. No harmful algal or phytoplankton proliferation events reported in the preceding 4 years.
