A pebble beach with fine calcareous and flint-origin material located 350 metres south of the Potenza River mouth in Porto Recanati. The beach has a 3% slope on the emerged area and 8% on the submerged area. The distance between medium-low and high water (safe water limit) is 4 metres. The surrounding area includes the riparian zone of the Potenza River and urban settlements.

Classified as poor quality (Classe Scarsa) from 2015 to 2018. 2015: E. coli 90th percentile 1294.4 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 90th percentile 643.5 CFU/100 ml. 2016: E. coli 1835.3 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 875.3 CFU/100 ml. 2017: E. coli 979.6 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 538.2 CFU/100 ml. 2018: E. coli 622.3 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 303.5 CFU/100 ml. Identified pollution sources include urban wastewater and the Potenza River mouth.

Risks

The area is served by a mixed public sewer system with two overflow lifting stations and two flood overflow devices that discharge into the Potenza River. One urban wastewater treatment plant discharges into the Potenza River. Access to animals is prohibited under Municipal Regulation DCc n. 42/2018.
