A pebble beach with exposed rocky outcrops located north of the Vomano River mouth in Roseto degli Abruzzi. The beach is approximately one metre wide with gravel composition. The surrounding area is flat with hills beginning about five kilometres inland. The water is classified as excellent quality.

Coastal marine water body in the Vomano River estuary area. The bathing water area covers 0.1 square kilometres.

Location

Roseto degli Abruzzi, Teramo province, Abruzzo region. Located north of the Vomano River mouth. No dedicated parking or beach infrastructure is available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent. Treated wastewater discharges from the Scerne treatment plant in Pineto serve the area. The treatment plant operates activated sludge and biodisc systems with final disinfection. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded in the marine waters off the Abruzzo coast. Summer algal blooms are sparse, with some dinoflagellate blooms observed in past years containing little or no toxic species.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events are under study with a modelling approach. No anomalous events have been recorded.
