The bathing water zone is located in front of Piazza Filippone in Roseto degli Abruzzi. The beach is sandy with exposed cliffs and extends approximately 100 metres in width. The coastal area is flat up to about 1 kilometre westward, after which modest hills begin. The water body is classified as excellent quality.

Coastal waters in a plains area with medium stability. The bathing zone stretches approximately 100 metres along the beach.

Location

Roseto degli Abruzzi, Teramo Province, Abruzzo Region, Italy. Located along the coast at Lungomare Trieste. The area covers 0.760 square kilometres.

Beach establishments with assistance and first aid services, services for disabled persons, sanitary facilities, and food service points.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The sewage network in the area is of separated type and converges at a treatment plant located in Scerne, Pineto municipality, serving the entire sewage network of Pineto and southern and central Roseto. The treatment plant operates with two activated sludge lines and three biodisk lines with final disinfection. Treated effluent complies with limits set by Legislative Decree 152/06. No cyanobacterial blooms have been detected in the waters off the Abruzzo coast. Occasional algal blooms occur in summer with past instances of dinoflagellate blooms showing scarce or total absence of toxic species.
