Anse de la Mondrée is a bathing water zone located on the north-east coast of the Cotentin Peninsula, positioned midway between Cherbourg and Barfleur in the commune of Fermanville. The beach is subject to European bathing water quality standards under Directive 2006/7/CE. A vulnerability profile was established to identify and manage pollution sources affecting water quality and public health. The profile aims to ensure the bathing water reaches sufficient quality standards by 2015.

Located in the commune of Fermanville on the north-east coast of the Cotentin Peninsula, midway between Cherbourg and Barfleur.

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring is conducted under Directive 2006/7/CE. Faecal indicator germs are tracked. Historical classifications under Directive 76/160/CEE and simulated classifications under Directive 2006/7/CE have been documented.

Risks

Potential pollution sources have been identified including domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater, agricultural activities, artisanal and industrial activities, port and mooring zones, and camping facilities.
