Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Water quality is monitored annually by ARTA (Regional Environmental Agency) and by the consortium managing the treatment plant. Wastewater from Scanno and Frattura is treated by a treatment plant upstream of the lake and discharged according to Legislative Decree provisions. No cyanobacterial blooms, macroalgal proliferation, phytoplankton blooms, or potentially toxic species have been detected.
