A long sandy beach with fine white sand located at the mouth of Rio Sizandro. The beach is surrounded by cliffs and dunes in a naturally rich environment. Good conditions for surfing and bodyboarding. Torres Vedras has held the QualityCoast award since 2009. The beach participates in microbiological quality monitoring of beach sand.

Season

June 12th to September 12th (2021). Sampling frequency: triweekly.

Water Quality

Water quality classification 2020 under Decreto-Lei 135/09 (amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012). No significant pollution sources identified in the area. No history of short-term pollution events. Zero days of bathing advised against or prohibited due to short-term pollution in bathing season 2020.

Risks

Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation potential are all unlikely.
