Bagnera is a free public beach with a pebbly shoreline on Lake Orta in the Piedmont region of Italy. The beach spans approximately 148 metres and is located in Orta San Giulio. It is situated adjacent to an extra-hotel structure and a new recreational and tourist area. The bathing water is classified as good quality based on routine monitoring data from 2021 to 2024.

Enterococci 90th percentile 114.6 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile 200.2 MPN/100 ml. The area is served by wastewater collection with treatment approximately 10 km north of the sampling point. The bathing water falls within the homogeneous zone Orta 4 with medium-high pressure class, sewer class IV, and treatment plant class II.

Risks

Intense precipitation can trigger overflow structures. Accidental failures of pumping systems may introduce untreated effluent into the lake. Possible pollution sources include inadequate management of the sewerage network. No cyanobacterial monitoring is conducted periodically. No macroalgae or phytoplankton proliferation has been detected. No anomalous events were recorded. No toxic effects on bathers or aquatic ecosystems have been documented.
