Bjerre Strand is a bathing water location situated at Strandpark east of Humlebæk Tennis Club, accessed via Gl. Strandvej 77. The water features a pier with depths up to 2.5 metres and a sandy bottom with scattered stones. Surface currents in Øresund flow northward 60% of the time, with southward or stagnant conditions for the remainder. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent based on monitoring data from 2013–2016.

Location

Located near Humlebæk in Fredensborg Municipality, Denmark. Parking is available at Humlebæk Tennis Club. Access from the car park at Humlebæk Tennis Club. Public transport: Kystbanen (coastal railway) to Humlebæk Station or bus 388 to Jernbane Alle.

Facilities

Three bathing piers. No lifeguard. No disabled access facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent. Ten water samples are collected distributed across the bathing season (1 June–31 August). Monitoring point UTM coordinates: 720830; 6206974. Excellent classification maintained consistently from 2013–2016.

Risks

Possible faecal contamination sources: combined sewer overflows at Ida Tesdorpfsvej (350 m north) and north of Sletten Harbour (350 m south). Risk of cyanobacteria growth during prolonged high water temperatures. Macroalgae and eelgrass present, with periods of significant accumulation.
