Peder Mads Strand is a shallow bathing beach located south of Sletten Harbour between Gl. Strandvej 163A and 165 in Humlebæk, Denmark. The water reaches a depth of approximately 2 metres about 100 metres from the shore. The beach has a sandy bottom with scattered stones and experiences only weak currents, predominantly flowing from south to north. The water salinity ranges from 10–20 parts per thousand.

Shallow sandy beach with scattered stones on the bottom. Water depth reaches approximately 2 metres about 100 metres from the shore. Water salinity is 10–20 parts per thousand. Weak currents predominate, flowing from south to north. No risk of rip currents in shallow water.

Location

Located south of Sletten Harbour in Humlebæk, between Gl. Strandvej 163A and 165, 3050 Humlebæk. Access is from Gl. Strandvej. Parking is available as angled parking along the roadside. Public transport: Bus 388 to Sørens Allé.

Facilities

No lifeguard. No bathing pier. No disabled access facilities. Parking available as angled parking along the roadside.

Season

Official monitoring season runs from 1 June to 31 August.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent. Monitoring consists of 10 samples distributed across the bathing season from 1 June to 31 August. The classification has been consistently Excellent from 2013 to 2016.

Risks

Stormwater overflow at the beach that may discharge wastewater during rainy weather. Swimming is not recommended during rain and for approximately 24 hours after heavy rainfall. Risk of cyanobacteria growth, particularly in July and August during periods of prolonged high water temperature. Only slight growth of seaweed within 4 metres of the waterline.
