Strandbad Lochau is a public bathing beach on Lake Constance (Bodensee), the third largest inland lake in Central Europe. The lake is shared by Germany, Switzerland, and Austria without fixed borders. Following sewage treatment improvements implemented from the late 1970s onwards, the lake recovered from eutrophication that had threatened its ecological collapse. The bathing area is monitored for microbiological quality according to Austrian bathing water regulations.
