Bramsnæs Strand, Nagels Rende

Bramsnæs Strand is a 65-metre-long, 15-metre-wide beach located in Bramsnæs Bay near Ejby in Denmark. The beach consists of medium-sized stones with smaller grass areas and several stone breakwaters. A bathing pier extends 50 metres into the water. The beach is sheltered from Ejby by a planted slope and trees, with a green area between the slope and shore contributing to its pleasant atmosphere.

Water

Brackish water in Bramsnæs Bay. Water depth is under 2 metres up to 100 metres from the shore. Current direction is variable with no dominant flow direction.

Location

Located in Bramsnæs Bay west of Ejby. Access is via Nagels Rende road leading to Bramsnæsvig Boat Club at the road's end. Parking is available along Ejby Strandvej, 300 metres east of the beach.

Facilities

Bathing pier extending 50 metres into the water, toilets with drinking water, waste bins, warning signs for deteriorated water quality, rescue equipment.

Season

1 June to 1 September.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent quality. Monitored for faecal indicator bacteria (E. coli and enterococci) during the bathing season. Classification is based on samples collected during the preceding four bathing seasons and is revised annually in May.

Risks

A stormwater outflow is located 40 metres south of the bathing pier and may contain high concentrations of faecal bacteria during heavy rain. Low risk of harmful algae blooms (cyanobacteria and phytoplankton). Low risk of large macroalgae (seaweed) washup. Glass shards and litter can occur on the beach. Very low risk of chemical contamination.
