Dragerup Molen, øst is a bathing area located at Holbæk Marina's eastern mole, east of Holbæk town centre in the harbour. The water depth is approximately 1.5 metres at the end of the pier with a muddy bottom. The bathing water is classified as Excellent based on data from 2020–2023. Swimmers are advised to bathe within a designated area marked on the map where sewage discharge has low influence on water quality.

Water

Harbour water body with depth of approximately 1.5 metres at the end of the pier and muddy bottom. The water is typically brackish under normal conditions. Current direction is highly variable.

Location

The bathing area is located at Holbæk Marina's eastern mole, east of Holbæk town centre. Access is via Strandmøllevej. Parking is available at the site.

Facilities

Information board, restaurant, toilet, parking, lifeguards indicated on site map. A warning sign is posted at the bathing pier or access route in case of contaminated water risk.

Water Quality

Water classified as Excellent (based on 2020–2023 data). Monitoring is conducted routinely during the bathing season (1 May to 1 September) with testing for E. coli and enterococci bacteria. Occasional fecal contamination can occur from rainwater discharge and emptying of moored boats' sewage tanks. Contamination typically lasts 1–3 days depending on current and weather conditions.

Risks

One rainwater drainage outlet discharges in the area; heavy rainfall can carry high concentrations of fecal bacteria. Emptying of moored boats' sewage tanks can contaminate water. Low risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), macroalgae, and phytoplankton blooms. Occasional glass, waste, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occur. Swimmers are advised not to bathe directly in front of sewage outlets and to avoid swimming if water is unclear and feet cannot be seen at knee depth.
