Bungalow is a sandy beach in Riva Ligure, Liguria, characterized by numerous rigid coastal defence structures. The beach features private bathing establishments with services, free beach areas, and dining facilities. A seafront promenade, the Riviera dei Fiori cycle path, state road SS1, and a railway line are located inland from the beach.

Water

Coastal water body with an area of 1.235 km. Part of the Santo Stefano al Mare water body. Located in the Ligurian Sea with low stability mountainous relief classification.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2021–2024: GOOD. The bathing water is located in the Area 2 of the regional Ostreopsis monitoring network. Reference station at Santo Stefano al Mare recorded no exceedances of the 30,000 cells/litre limit from 2020 to 2024, with a value of 10,000–30,000 cells/litre recorded in July 2022.

Risks

Rio Pertusio stream mouth discharges directly into the bathing water. During heavy rainfall, increased stream flow may transport effluents downstream. Ostreopsis ovata microalgae blooms have occurred in Liguria over the past decade; respiratory tract irritation and fever in sensitive individuals can result from aerosol inhalation.
