Trapani, Sicily, Italy. Coordinates: 38.0195°N, 12.4975°E. The beach is located in the historic centre of Trapani.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good. The bathing water is monitored by ARPA Sicilia. A treatment facility (Consortile di Via Libica, Class A.E. >50,000) discharges treated wastewater into the Strait of Sicily via an outfall pipe extending 3 km offshore.

Risks

Occasional overflow of mixed wastewater from an emergency overflow near Via Tunisi ecological centre (coordinates 38.283°N, 12.5267°E). Potential for pump or pipeline failures. Some macroalgal or phytoplankton proliferation events recorded in the preceding four years.
