Camping Des Messires

France Lake 1 - Excellent

Lac des Messires is a 5-hectare wooded lake located within the Domaine des Messires camping site, a 13-hectare facility that accommodates tents and caravans. The lake is 475 metres long and 110 metres wide with a sandy beach and natural rocky shoreline. Access is restricted to camping guests only. The lake supports swimming, recreational fishing, and water activities such as canoeing.

Water

Freshwater lake with a surface area of 5 hectares, length of 475 metres, maximum width of 110 metres, and maximum depth of 4–5 metres. The beach is sandy with natural rocky shoreline. The lake is fed by an underground spring with no inflowing streams. Water exits via a stream that flows towards the Vologne river.

Location

The lake is situated in the commune of Herpelmont in the Vosges region. Coordinates for the water quality sampling point are X: 48.178220, Y: 6.742387. The maximum capacity is 300 persons.

Facilities

Restaurant, refreshment stand, sanitation facilities (toilets), waste bins on beach and at main building. No lifeguard station. Animals are permitted.
