Location

Ravello, Salerno Province, Campania region. The monitoring point is located on a rocky and sandy coastal area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (based on monitoring data from 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023). Urban wastewater is treated through three systems: an Imhoff tank in Cigliano with chlorination, a biological active sludge plant in Sambuco discharging to Reginna Minor river, and a primary treatment plant in Marmorata, with discharge via submarine outfall.

Risks

Possible sources of pollution identified: a lifting station and emergency overflow in Atrani on the western side, Dragone stream on the western side, and potential breaks in the submarine pipeline serving the loading chamber in via dei Dogi, Atrani.
