Spiaggia Scogliera is a rocky bathing water located in Amalfi, Campania. The area features a jagged rocky coastline with high subvertical rock walls, terraces extending to sea level, intense urban development in the nearby town of Atrani, a sandy beach inlet with tourist facilities, and a boulder breakwater. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent for water quality monitoring in years 2020–2023.

Rocky coastal inlet with sandy beach section and boulder breakwater. Includes a submarine outfall pipeline with coordinates starting at latitude 40.631383°, longitude 14.596817° and ending at latitude 40.628700°, longitude 14.597750°.

Location

Located in the municipality of Amalfi, province of Salerno. The monitoring point is situated along a rocky littoral near Atrani.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (years 2020–2021–2022–2023, based on Legislative Decree 116/2008). Wastewater treatment via biological facility with activated sludge located in Cieco, discharging through submarine pipeline.

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified: Dragone stream discharge on the east side; lifting station and emergency overflow in Via Gabriele Di Benedetto, Atrani; potential breaks in the submarine pipeline serving the settling tank at Piazzale Marinella, Atrani.
