Centro is a bathing area in Cogoleto, Ligeria, characterized by a predominantly pebbly beach with extensive sandy sections. It is part of the Varazze–Arenzano water body along the Ligurian coast. The beach is fed partially by the Arrestra stream and several minor tributaries. The water quality has been classified as excellent based on monitoring from 2008–2011.

Coastal water body (Varazze–Arenzano). Bathing area extends 0.503 square kilometres. Fed by the Arrestra stream and minor tributary streams (Rio Capuzzola basin).

Location

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants, discharge pipes, or Imhoff tanks are present. Cyanobacterial blooms do not occur due to oligotrophic conditions in the Ligurian Sea. No cases of toxic algal strains have been documented in the past four years.

Risks

River mouth identified as a potential pollution source. No harmful algal or macroalgal proliferation events recorded in the past four years.
