Water Quality

Water quality is classified under Decreto-Lei 135/2009 (amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012). No days of bathing prohibition or advisory due to short-term pollution events occurred during the 2024 bathing season. Short-term pollution events are unlikely.

Risks

Cyanobacteria have a moderate potential for proliferation with historical occurrence of blooms. Macroalgae and phytoplankton have low proliferation potential with no historical occurrence.
