A fine sand beach with a 3% average slope, protected by artificial emerged rocky cliffs. The beach is located in an urbanized area with railway line passage. The distance between mean low water and high water safety limits is approximately 80 meters. Astronomical tide range is 30–50 centimeters. Average beach width is 40 meters.

2015: Excellent classification; E. coli 95th percentile 21.6 CFU/100ml; intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 20.1 CFU/100ml. 2016: Excellent classification; E. coli 95th percentile 68.4 CFU/100ml; intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 58.0 CFU/100ml. 2017: Excellent classification; E. coli 95th percentile 137.8 CFU/100ml; intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 89.9 CFU/100ml. 2018: Good classification; E. coli 95th percentile 191.1 CFU/100ml; intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 150.8 CFU/100ml. Wastewater treatment plant performs activated sludge biological treatment with design capacity of 2500 person-equivalents. COD, BOD5, and TSS parameters were compliant during 2015–2018. Microbiological controls were compliant during 2015–2018.

Risks

Accidental overflow events with exceedance of microbiological parameter limits from municipal wastewater treatment plant and pump stations. No cyanobacterial blooms detected during sampling period. No algal or phytoplankton blooms reported in the previous four years.
