A fine sandy beach with a gentle 3% slope, protected by artificial rocky outcrops. The beach is approximately 60 metres wide, with a distance of about 80 metres between medium-low and high water marks. The surrounding area is part of the urban periphery of Campofilone with a railway line passing through.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent (2015–2018). 2015: E. coli 95th percentile 21.0, intestinal enterococci 17.5. 2016: E. coli 29.9, enterococci 22.3. 2017: E. coli 87.5, enterococci 40.0. 2018: E. coli 169.0, enterococcci 72.1. Wastewater treatment plant at Marina di Campofilone with active sludge biological treatment serves 2,500 population equivalents. COD, BOD5, and suspended solids parameters remained compliant during 2015–2018. Microbiological controls compliant throughout this period.

Risks

Identified pollution sources include Fosso Campofilone discharge 600 metres north and Marina di Campofilone treatment plant outfall. Accidental faults and combined sewer overflows at municipal treatment plant and pumping stations noted as potential short-duration pollution events. No cyanobacterial proliferation or algal blooms reported in the monitoring period.
