A fine sandy beach with a gradual slope of approximately 3% in both the emerged and submerged portions, protected by artificial rocky outcrops. The beach has an average width of 40 metres. The distance between average low water and high water (safe water limit) is approximately 80 metres. Astronomical tidal range is 30–50 centimetres. The surrounding area includes a peripheral part of the urban centre with a railway line passing through.

Water Quality

Classification: Category C; Water quality rating: E. The area is served by a combined public sewerage system connected to a treatment plant with a lift station and overflow structures. The treatment plant uses an activated sludge system designed for 750 population equivalent units and treats domestic urban wastewater. It is located at Montecantino in Massignano municipality. Identified pollution sources include a treatment plant discharge in the Montecantino direction, an overflow structure discharge in the Marina direction, and a lift station discharge to the Menocchia stream in the via dell'Artigianale direction.
