Divisione Acqui is a coastal bathing water in the Genoa area of Liguria, Italy. The zone features an alternation of predominantly pebbled beach, rocks, and artificial structures. It is located in a residential area extending east of the Genoa Quinto wastewater treatment plant. The water body is classified as excellent based on monitoring from 2010–2013.

Coastal waters (CWA3 — mountainous relief, low stability). Area of 0.473 km². Part of the Rio Bagnara catchment basin in the Ligurian Sea.

Location

Genoa, Liguria region, Italy. The bathing area extends east of the Genoa Quinto treatment plant in the Genoa-Camogli water body.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2010–2013). Identified pollution sources include coastal treatment plants (Sturla and Quinto depurators), active discharge pipes, and the mouth of a river. No specific monitoring measures are currently in place. The Ligurian Sea is not characterised by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions.

Risks

Potentially toxic algal blooms, specifically Ostreopsis ovata, were recorded in July 2011. The water body is subject to impacts from coastal wastewater treatment plants and river discharge.
