Ejsingholm Badestrand

Ejsingholm Strand is a child-friendly beach located on Venø Bay in the southern part of Ejsingholm, near Vinderup. The beach is approximately 20 meters wide and 200 meters long, consisting of fine sand with few small stones and shells. It is situated in a tourist area with camping facilities and summer house communities. Surfing is available from the southern part of the beach.

Water

Saltwater body in Venø Bay. Water depth increases gradually offshore, remaining under 2 meters up to 1,000 meters from the shore. Current direction is variable, primarily from west and south, flowing toward north.

Location

Ejsingholm, near Vinderup, in the southern part of Venø Bay. Parking is available near the beach with a surf center located opposite the parking area.

Facilities

Toilets, trash bins, benches, lifeguard rings, first aid kit, disabled access facilities, parking, warning flags for poor water quality.

Season

Routine monitoring occurs during the official bathing season. Annual classification review takes place in May.

Water Quality

Bathing water classification: Excellent quality. Monitoring is conducted routinely during the bathing season for two indicator bacteria: E. coli and enterococci. Classification is based on regular samples taken during the season plus samples from the three preceding seasons and is revised annually before the season begins.

Risks

Risk of blue-green algae blooms is low. Risk of phytoplankton blooms is low. Possible macroalgae washing ashore, though risk is low. Temporary fecal bacterial contamination can occur following heavy rainfall due to overflow from Engvej overflow structure, Vinderup treatment plant outlets, and the Ejsingholm summer house area pump station. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occur. Swimming is advised against for 3 days following heavy rainfall.
