Hacqueville Beach is located on the west coast of the Manche department in the municipality of Granville, in the northern part of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. The beach is 400 meters long and 200 meters wide with a gentle slope and consists of fine sand and rocks. It is an unguarded bathing area with moderate daily frequentation between 100 and 1000 people.

Water

Shallow water body less than 30 meters deep. Located in the Bay of Granville-Jullouville, which is part of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Tidal and current conditions present.

Location

Granville municipality, southern part, on the west coast of the Manche department. Parking available at Cale d'Hacqueville (fewer than 50 spaces) and Impasse du Port Foulon (unmarked spaces). Access to the beach via cale (ramp).

Facilities

No sanitary facilities on the beach. No lifeguard station. No showers. Parking available. Beach maintenance performed by the municipality. Animal access prohibited from June 15 to September 15.

Season

Official bathing season: June 15 to September 15.

Water Quality

Water quality classified according to Directive 2006/7/CE. Monitoring includes measurements of Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. The 2013 monitoring season was the reference year for classification. The beach was subject to quality assessments and potential reclassification if 'insufficient' quality was found.

Risks

Agricultural pollution indicators present in the Hacqueville pluvial basin, Saigue catchment basin, and Boscq catchment basin. Potential sources of pollution include collective and non-collective wastewater systems, stormwater discharge, agricultural activities, port and mooring zones, and recreational infrastructure.
