Fiorenzuola Strada a Mare is a narrow, pebbly beach mixed with sand located in the Marche region near Pesaro. The beach is backed by a cliff face subject to landslides, with rocky outcrops on the seabed that drop away steeply. Submerged and emerged rock formations are present. The average beach width is 25 metres.

Coastal water body (San Bartolo) in the Litorale between Gabicce and Pesaro.

Location

Pesaro, Marche region, Pesaro Urbino province. The bathing water is part of the San Bartolo water body and is located in a regional park area with scattered houses.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: E. The Pesaro municipal wastewater system includes mixed-type collectors conveying effluent to five treatment plants across the territory. The largest facility is located at Borgheria near the mouth of the Foglia River, serving the urban centre of Pesaro with a capacity of approximately 90,000 population equivalents and a flow rate of approximately 20,000 m³/day with biological treatment. Over the past 4 years, 24 annual checks of table 1 parameters and 6 annual checks of table 3 parameters have been conducted, all compliant with legal limits. Some mixed urban wastewater collectors not connected to the Borgheria treatment plant discharge into the Foglia River and Genica stream with disinfection stations; some have been partially remediated following connection of most buildings in certain city districts to the new separate sewer system with discharge to the Borgheria treatment plant.
