Lauro is a sandy beach bathing area located in the Lesina Lagoon, a transitional water body in the Foggia Province of Puglia. The area encompasses 2.03 square kilometres. Water quality was classified as excellent for the period 2017–2020. There are no wastewater treatment plant discharges or watercourse outlets that could convey pollutants into the bathing area.

Location

San Nicandro Garganico, Foggia Province, Puglia region. The bathing area extends from the Lauro River mouth to the Schiapparo outlet along the eastern shore of the Lesina Lagoon.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No wastewater discharges to sea are present. No watercourses or canals convey pollutant sources into the bathing area. No short-term pollution events were recorded over the past four years.
