Water

The bathing area is located in Lannion, commune of Lannion, within the Lannion-Trégor Communauté administrative area in Brittany, France.

Water Quality

Water quality has been monitored by ARS (Regional Health Authority) between 2013 and 2020. Bacteriological analysis measured E. coli and enterococci levels. The beach was classified according to both the 1976 and 2006 EU directives. Multiple closures of the bathing area occurred between 2016 and 2020. Potential pollution sources include wastewater collection and treatment systems, stormwater drainage, agricultural activity, and river discharges.

Risks

Algal blooms were recorded between 2007 and 2016. Wastewater overflow events occurred on Lannion between 2014 and 2020. Pollution risks are associated with discharges from the Goas Lagorn and Léguer river, wastewater treatment defects, and agricultural runoff.
