Hardausee is a reservoir created for recreational purposes in the former riverbed of the Hardau river by construction of a weir. The lake covers approximately 8 hectares and is fed by the Hardau river. It is used for swimming, pedal boating, relaxation on the sand beach and shaded meadow, and walks along a approximately 2 kilometre circular path. The lake is also managed as a fishing water by the local angling club.
