The town of Hemsbach / Bergstraße operates a bathing lake on a total area of approximately 20 hectares. The lake itself covers approximately 14 hectares and is supervised by trained personnel (lifeguards / DLRG / DRK) during the bathing season as a public open-air swimming facility. From 1 May to the end of September each year, the natural bathing lake opens its doors and attracts nearly 100,000 visitors annually with its sandy beach and shady lounging areas, clean sanitary facilities and other amenities, and wonderful location.
